Which foreign CPL licences are accepted for DGCA conversion?

This includes any CPL issued by an ICAO-recognised aviation authority, including FAA (USA), EASA (Europe), CAA (UK), CASA (Australia) and Transport Canada, amongst others.

How long does the entire DGCA CPL conversion process take?

Flying the conversion itself only takes 7–10 days, but from start to completion, paperwork, etc. This process will take anywhere between 2 and 4 months, depending on how fast your papers are sorted.

Should I do DGCA theory exams even if I cleared the abroad exams?

Yes. As per DGCA, all converting pilots have to clear three written examinations — Air Regulation, Air Navigation and Meteorology, irrespective of their foreign qualifications.

Do you need a DGCA Class 1 Medical for CPL conversion?
